Oi Familia!!!!
Another super amazing week at the MTC!!! Wow, I’m really loving this whole missionary thing, it’s so great!!!
The temple with our district last week was AMAZING. I can’t wait to go again tonight!!! The Provo temple is beautiful! It made me miss working in the lovely Newport Beach temple and all of my friends there!!!

Last week we had a devotional from Elder and Sister Golden of the 70! SOOO GOOD! Every devotional is amazing!!!! Sister Golden shared a message with us about having no regrets and being exactly the missionary that our Heavenly Father needs us to be! Elder Golden talked about teaching with the spirit! That’s something that’s really tough to do when I don’t know Portuguese very well, but I’m getting better slowly but surely!!!
Oh hey, I also got a calling! I’m the new Sister Training Leader (the sister zone leader) so that’s exciting! I get to welcome all the new guys and give them orientation, I get to go to lots of meetings and I get to interview all the sisters in the zone! I’m so excited to serve my branch! :)

Oh ALSO!!!! I saw Esther Yuen in the cafeteria 3 times this week!! She works there! It’s so fun to see people from home up here!!! Also, all the elders in my district have gained 20+ lbs. from the food here! HAHA one elder split his pants! Ha-ha WEVE ONLY BEEN HERE 2 WEEKS!! Ahahaha!!!
So our lessons with Carol this week have been getting better and better!! For one of our lessons we planned for it to go one way, and she kind of changed directions on us so we had to just do our best with our Portuguese and just testify what we know, and it actually went Muito Bom!! That was GREAT!! The spirit was so strong and she felt it too! It was a really neat experience! It just reminded me that we aren’t doing this alone! We can’t do it alone! We HAVE to rely on the Spirit and if we don’t... we'll be in a lot of trouble... because I don’t speak Portuguese! Ha-ha!
So after a couple lessons this week we had a surprise! Carol our investigator will actually become our second teacher, Irma Kimball!!! AHHH so great! So now she's been teaching us in the mornings and Irmao Gray in the evenings! Irma Kimball is amazing! I love her so much!
We got two more investigators this week and we are also doing weekly skype lessons with people ACTUALLY FROM BRAZIL!!! So that’s going to be pretty cool!!
I’m also getting really good at volleyball during our exercise time.... don’t be surprised if I go pro when I get back (NOT) ha-ha!
Irmao Gray is the best teacher I’ve ever had! I think he is a huge reason why I didn’t get my visa yet and why I’m here in Provo! He has taught me things and helped me learn in ways NO ONE else could have done for me! THERE ARE NO COINCIDENCES AT THE MTC! Everything here is set up for a reason and I know that 100%.
On Sunday we said goodbye to half our ward all leaving for the mission field! So exciting but sad! I love them all!!! We also got to hear from the General Young Women’s President she’s a great and inspiring speaker!!

Also, I got to go to my leadership training meeting and I was the only sister with 13 elders... Ha-ha but I love them all so it’s okay! :)
I know that I couldn’t be doing, growing or learning any of these things without the help of my Heavenly Father. He really loves all of us! He really wants to help us! We just have to ask! It’s AMAZING how many times we pray here at the MTC and its amazing how often we feel inspired or feel the spirit! Those things ARE related!!! We can’t do this alone! With God ALL things are possible!!!
1 Nephi 17:50-51 - “And I said unto them: If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them. If he should command me that I should say unto this water, be thou earth, it should be earth; and if I should say it, it would be done.
And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?”
God will help us with everything! I like to change the part that says "build a ship" to "speaking Portuguese" or "being a missionary" God won’t leave us alone to do the things he has commanded us to do!
Love you all!! Also if you’re planning on sending a letter this week, the mail here is behind right now! So please don’t send it until next week! Using www.dearelder.com is still ok though. :) Obrigada!!!!!
