Uma Semana Em Porto Velho!

Hello everyone! Let me start off by apologizing for not sending a big email for the last few weeks! But I’ve decided to send them like this from now on… I think it’ll be easier for me and you! J

So yeah this week me and Sister Freitas went to Porto Velho! We left Tuesday and got back just a few hours ago! Porto Velho is a city in the State of Rondonia and you can only get there from Manaus by plane! That’s right, for the first time in 15 months I got to go on a place! The Elder called giving us our flight plans, and I asked when I should go pick up my passport, and he was so confused and he asked how I’ve traveled in the past without a passport… I told him that I’ve never traveled outside Amazonas, he laughed and said he thinks I’m the only one who’s never left! Hahaha!

This is a picture of my plane buddy!

So yeah, in Porto Velho we go to participate in the conference with the president! It went super well. Then the next few days were all work, work, work!

My first divisao that I did was with Sister Salgado, my trainer! It was so good to see her again. The last time I saw her was when we were companions! She was so impressed with my Portuguese! Hahaha! It was so great to teach with her.

We’ve both learned so much these past months so it went super well! The next day I was with Sister Dias! She is SUPER funny. We had a blast and taught so much and marked datas ate o po! J It was awesome!

One thing that I learned this week during my studies and while teaching, was about the Holy Ghost. He is the third member of the Godhead, he’s up there with God and Jesus Christ! IF we are worthy and invite him to teach with us, he will! So we will have a lesson being taught by us missionaries and the Holy Ghost! Super cool right??!! That’s why people accept our message and accept baptism, not because we’re great teachers, but because the spirit is the perfect teacher!

My last divisao was with Sister Erica Da Sina! She was trained by my old companion Sister Aleman! It was great to get to know her! She’s super amazing.

Her area was very sad and we were able to get them more excited, find a lot of new investigators and bring A TON of investigators to church! Really this week I learned a lot that the Lord really hears and answers our prayer!! This week we had a lot to do to help the sisters here, and we were able to find them people to baptize here next week! Really the Lord will give us strength and energy to help those who we are responsible for if we are obedient and first do everything that he asks of us.

We got a call from our Lider de Districto letting us know that our investigator got baptized!! How even does that happen!! We weren’t even here all week and the Lord blessed us with a baptism!! I love being a missionary. We get to see miracles happen every day, we get to feel the spirit so strong every day, and we get to help people change their lives! Help people be happy! I love being a missionary. The church is true, cuz if it wasn’t I wouldn’t be here watching Miracles happy every day!

I love you all!! J

Have a wonderful week! Read the Book of Mormon! Don’t forget to do family night!!

Tchau!
