Familia!

I finally made it to BRAZIL!!! We arrived this morning at 1:00 am!! I got some sleep and got up at 6:30 and started my day! It’s so great here! It is SOOO much smaller than Provo! We’re all a little homesick for our big Provo district but we’ll adjust!

We met our teacher just a few minutes ago, he’s HILARIOUS!! I already love him! Great teachers make everything better! He is so funny and speaks very very fast and I just am cracking up cuz I have like 2 hours of sleep and I’m not understanding anything ha-ha but it’s all good! It’ll come! I still can’t believe that one day I’ll understand what they’re saying AND be able to reply!

My p-day will be either Wednesday or Friday! We get to go to the city and wonder around also we get to go to the temple! We also can only email for 30 min and we can’t take or send pictures.... tudo bem!!

Also everyone ONLY speaks Portuguese to you! So we hear it more and will learn faster so that’s good! The food is pretty good, but everyone says you have the same thing every day... So we’ll see how much I like it in 4 weeks! Haha! The weather here is amazing! It’s not cold AT ALL!!! Muto bom!!! I’m just excited to be here and not on an airplane!

Our whole district is sooooo tired and just out of it.... and we have to.... get to.... teach a lesson tonight that we had 10 min to prep for... so that’s bom.... haha tudo bem! I think there’s like only 600 missionaries here so it’s super small!

Also during exercise time we were talking to the supervisor and it turns out HE WAS IRMAO GREY’S COMPANION WHEN HE WAS ON HIS MISSION!!! Oh my gosh!! Needless to say we got pretty excited!

All of the South Americans love us and help us with our Portuguese so it’s great! And, if we’re speaking English and there is a native around, they’ll yell at you to speak Portuguese... ha-ha so we have to be careful!

I think www.dearelder.com works here! That would be good to do cuz I only have 30 min email time... also we get to go to the Sao Paulo and the other temple near there which I can’t remember right now...

Also, there is a timer on this computer and it’s just counting down!

Sao Paulo reminds me exactly of all the places we went in Mexico! Muito similar!!!!Haha freaking me out!

We’re going to meet the president and his wife after this so that’ll be cool... it’s literally just like Provo but smaller... and I’m like so tired right now, and everyone speaks Portuguese here it’s so crazy! But man I’m going to learn it much faster than in Provo! Pretty exciting stuff... I’ll have my address soon... Or just send it to the CTM address and just put my name... there aren’t any other Sister Huiskens so I think it’ll be good!

Love you and miss you all so so much! I can’t wait to get into the field!

Oh, I met someone going to Manaus today so that’s exciting and I heard there’s someone here FROM Manaus!

Okay that’s all, love you and miss you!!

It’s like 6 hrs. time difference!

Okay love you all! Bye!!!
