BOM DIA everyone!!! Another fantastic week here in cidade nova! One of the best weeks yet!!!

So I’ll start out with a funny story! Last week we had a family night with this super awesome less active family! Love them so much! They’re learning English, and so they asked me to give the opening prayer in English, I was excited cuz I haven’t prayed out loud in English for 3 months! So I started and seriously I couldn’t remember any words in English, it was seriously the biggest struggle! It was freaky!! I just never speak English here, like never, except for the occasional "goodnight” or "yo" that the kids in the street say to me! Ha-ha but yeah pretty crazy! I’m going to come home and not be able to speak! Ha-ha oh well! I like Portuguese! Ha-ha!

So yeah this week was great! Learned a lot and taught bastante! We’re teaching the daughter-in-law of a member, and she just had little twin boys 2 months ago! Seriously the cutest little babies in the whole world! We love going over to teach her, for the babies but ALSO because she loves the church and is super excited to learn more! She’s looking for something good to raise her boys in to help them grow up being gentlemen! She loves how important families are in the gospel! We shared with her the family proclamation to the world and she just loved that! She was so excited to share it with her husband! We’re excited to return this week and see how he husband liked it! The next step is to help them get married! So yeah we’re going to have to start planning a wedding! Pretty exciting! We’re working with a bunch of families right now! We taught a family about the plan of salvation and they were super stoked about it! They came to church Sunday, and their 10 year old daughter loves primary. Their family looked so cute sitting together in sacrament meeting!! We’re going to start working with them as well to make a date for them to get married so they can receive the blessings of marriage and to help them follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized!

So the reason why this week was the most amazing!!!! I HAD MY FIRST BAPTISM!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! Anderson got baptized this week! He’s a 17 year old kid, who really loves the gospel! His baptism was super-duper special!! His dad and sister who live far away came to support him, and they were tearing up when he was baptized, very special! They want to learn more about the church now. Super awesome! Anderson bore his testimony after his baptism and wow, seriously he’s one special kid! I’m so excited for him to progress, receive the Holy Ghost next week and the priesthood, and help him prepare to serve a mission! Super great awesome experience!!!

But seriously it is so clear how important baptism is in our lives, because the enemy was literally doing everything to stop it from happening... I think everything that could have gone wrong the morning of the baptism, went wrong. Ha-ha it’s almost funny how everything was going wrong, but as soon as we started the actual baptism meeting everything went perfectly and the spirit was so strong! Baptism is so important! It’s the first step we take to show our faith! We are literally cleansed of all of our sins and literally start a new life! It’s so amazing! I’m so excited and proud of Anderson and his decision to be baptized! It’s really a day I will never forget! :)

Scripture of the week!

Enos 1:15

...Tudo quanto pedires com fé, acreditando que receberás em nome de Cristo, tu Receberás.

Translation:

… Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it.
