Hello everyone!!!
I hope you all had a great week!! This week was great for me!!! Every week is great when you’re on a mission!!!!
So this week we visited a ton of less active families!! The ward boundaries changed a while back and the building that our area meets in is super far away... but we’re helping them see the importance of going to church!! Lots of people here say that church doesn’t save us, and yes that’s true, it’s not the church but the ordinances that we participate in church that saves us!! It’s baptism in a church that has power and authority, and the Holy Ghost! It’s partaking of the sacrament every week that keeps us clean and worthy and ready to return to our Heavenly Father at any time!! The sacrament is super important!! I didn’t understand fully the importance until I came on my mission! But seriously, we are made clean when we repent and partake of the sacrament! It’s like we’re being baptized and made clean every week!! What a blessing the sacrament is!!!
We have been teaching a few other investigators this week and received a ton of references from the members!! The members here are so helpful!! They give us references! They have family nights and ask us to invite investigators, they go out and teach with us!! Missionary work is nothing without the members!! Members help new members stay strong and active in the church, missionaries come and go but the members stay!! So it’s so important for the members to help the missionaries!!!
Oh also this week I’ve been studying a conference talk from this last conference priesthood session, the talk by President Uchtdorf!! Soooo good!! It’s really helped me and changed my perspective on a lot of things!! I think we can all learn something from this talk!! So go read it right now!!! Here is a link to this talk - ‘On Being Genuine’ - https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2015/04/on-being-genuine?lang=eng
Scripture of the week!!
4 néfi 1;15 E aconteceu que não havia contendas na terra, em virtude do amor a Deus que existia no coração do povo.
Translation:
4 Nephi 1:15 - ‘And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.’
