Oi Familia!!!
Este semana foi muito bom!! We went to the temple TWO times this week!! WHATT!!!
The first was for a session with all the other missionaries!! It was super amazing as always! Just so relaxing and peaceful! The temple just recharges me for the transfer! My mind just gets cleared and my view on everything is changed! I’m able to see the things that really matter! I start to see the things that need to take priority in my life right now! The things I need to focus on and not to stress the little things or thinking about life decisions for after the mission! Just focusing on the mission and my purpose here!!

And the second time we went to the temple was with a few investigators and recent converts!! Oh man it was super awesome! We did a tour of the temple grounds and explained all about the temple!! They all loved it so much!! They said they could feel something different there, a peace that they couldn’t describe (the spirit) :) Then the temple president came out and talked to them all and oh man, it was just super great!!

The rest of the week was pretty good too. It was a little bummer because there was a holiday here this week so literally EVERYONE was traveling and almost no one was home! But we still managed to teach and contact lots of people!! It was super great!!
Our mission president presented a challenge for us this week! To read o Livro de Mormon before Aug. 5! So we’re all starting over from the beginning! Its soooo great! I don’t know how many times I’ve read 1 Nefi mais literally every time I read it I learn something new!! This time what stood out to me as I was reading was all the times Nefi talks about keeping the commandments of God and you’ll be blessed!! It’s something so simple but sometimes we forget how willing God is to bless us, we just have to keep the commandments! It was crazy to read and see how many times Nefi talks about this! I’ve never noticed that he speaks so much about that until this time I read!
The Book of Mormon is the word of God! We need to read it EVERY DAY! Even if it’s just one verse! We NEED it to help us in our lives it will guide us in our everyday lives in whatever situation were in! How lucky are we as members of the church to have this knowledge of the Book of Mormon!! To have not only the Bible but also the Book of Mormon! Two books that contain the word of God! Two books that contain the answers to our questions! Two books that hold all the answers to our prayers!! As Sister Earnest always said, ‘If you want to talk to God pray, if you want God to talk to you, read the scriptures!!’ We need to always be reading the scriptures! Specifically the Book of Mormon!! I challenge all of you to start from the beginning again and start to read! And pay attention to how you feel! We need to be constantly ready and praying for confirmation that it’s true! It’s a promise our Heavenly Father gives us! That EVERYTIME we read ponder and then pray to know the Book of Mormon is true he will give us an answer! But we must have faith, and real intent to act on the answer we will receive!! I know that as we read more and more our testimonies will be strengthened and we will see grande bênçãos em nosso vidas! (I wrote that in Portuguese cuz I don’t know how to say that in English.... ha-ha)
I love the Livro de Mormon!
Scripture of the Week:
1 Nefi 17:3 - E assim vemos que os mandamentos de Deus devem ser cumpridos. E se os filhos dos homens guardam os mandamentos de Deus, ele alimenta-os e fortalece-os e dá-lhes meios pelos quais poderão cumprir as coisas que lhes ordenou; portanto ele nos deu os meios de sobrevivermos enquanto permanecíamos no deserto.
Translation:
1 Nephi 17:3 - And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them; wherefore, he did provide means for us while we did sojourn in the wilderness.
