Wooohooo este semana foi MUITO TOP!!!

Tuesday I went to the mission office to pick up my new companion. There were lots of missionaries arriving!! We had a welcome fireside from Presidente Castro (which I got to translate for the new Americans) and then we got our companions and went to our areas!! My new companion IS THE BEST!! She’s from CHICLAYO PERU!! Where Camille is serving!!! What!?!??!?! YES!!!!!!!?! I asked her about a few of the people that I know in that mission and she’s met a few of them and she’s seen the rest!! WHAT THE HECK!!! I was like almost crying when I found that out!!! She’s super awesome!! She’s learning Portuguese super-fast!! But sometimes it’s difficult for her to understand so I get to use my awesome Spanish skills (not) to help her!! But wow! When she teaches the spirit is just so so strong!!

Something I’ve learned here in Manaus is that it doesn’t matter how well you can speak the mission language, it’s more important to speak the language of the spirit! To know how to bring the spirit into your lessons!! And Sister Meono already knows how to do that!! She starts teaching and you can just feel the spirit enter in the room!! It’s amazing! She’s amazing! This transfer is going to be incredible!!!

We had a zone conference on Wednesday which was awesome!! Learned a ton!!! It was weird though because at these conferences the missionaries leaving this transfer or the next give their last testimony for everyone, and it was weird because all my friends are going home! Like Sister Jacinto!! It’s crazy how fast time is going by here!! It’s super important that we remember that we are on the Lords time! We have to use every minute to do His will and to help the people here receive the restored gospel!!

Anyway, this week was filled with miracles!! I trained with Sister Meono for her to invite people to be baptized and in every lesson that she invited someone to be baptized they accepted!! It was incredible!! Now we just have to help them follow through!! We are also going back and forth to the cartorio to get the documents for the wedding of a family we are teaching!! A family super special!! Seriously I feel like I’ve know this family for years and years and it’s only been like 3 weeks!!

I’m so excited for this transfer!! My companion is top! And we’re already best friends!! I love being a missionary! I love seeing the miracles of the Lord in our lives!!! The church is true!!

Scripture of the week!

1 Nefi 17:51 (I like to replace the part [to build a boat] to anything else I need to do, like learn Portuguese, teach by the spirit, keep the commandments)

Ora, se o Senhor possui tão grande poder e fez tantos milagres entre os filhos dos homens, por que não podeensinar-me a [construir um navio?]

Translation:

1 Nephi 17:51 - And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should [build a ship?]
